Since the 50’s, economies the world over are integrating and developing ever-closer links in trade and investment. Termed as globalisation, this process is not new and has been around since centuries. But what has changed, is the pace and scope by encompassing more and more countries and sectors.

These changes have been driven by necessity for some and as a matter of strategy for others, but it has definitely brought in its wake a sense of liberalisation of trade and finances. Textile industry is one sector which has imbibed the globalisation culture very well.

Textile and garment industries of some countries have benefitted the most and some less due to this phenomenon. To get a better understanding and an appraisal of the effects of globalisation on the worldwide textile sector, our
face2face team spoke to Mr. Phillipe Pasquet, CEO of Premiere Vision.

Premiere Vision is a leading global organiser of textile and fashion shows and the Première Vision SA group manages directly Première Vision, Expofil, Indigo and ModAmont in partnership with Tarsus and altogether 18 events throughout the world with around 3,100 exhibitors and visited by more than 120,000 professional visitors.
